How do I book you?
Contact me! Either by my contact page here on my website, phone, email, facebook, instagram, smoke signals, whatever! Let’s just start a conversation!!
Do you do destination weddings?
Yes, please! Take me with you!! All I need are two round trip plane tickets, and two nights in a (not gross) hotel room. I do require that an assistant travel with me for destination weddings, for safety sake, since I travel with a lot of expensive gear, and to help me shoot your wedding.
How far will you go?
How big is the world??
Do you offer more than weddings?
Yes!! I shoot personality driven family portraits, lifestyle shots for businesses, births (especially home births), boudoir, real estate, and fine jewelry. Basically my camera is my life.
Can I customize my own package if yours don’t offer exactly what I need?
I’m fine with that! Tell me exactly what you need, and I have a spreadsheet that will work the numbers out with very minimal number crunching on my part.
Is a second photographer important?
I think so. It’s probably the reason my Duchess package is my most popular. It includes the second shooter. I can only realistically focus on and capture one thing at a time. With a second shooter, I have another vantage point.
Can I enlist a second shooter for you?
No. I have a small number of trusted associates that I prefer to work with, and we operate with a sort of ‘short hand’ between us. This is something that I feel strong enough to about include it in my contract’s exclusivity clause. Which means that I’m to be the only professional photographer for the event.
Does that mean my family can’t take photos?
I’m happy to let your family help you to capture your big day. I just ask that they do not put themselves between me and whatever it is I’m photographing, and to stay in their seats during the ceremony. If I do find Uncle Bob to be in the way, I will politely ask him to give me space. I do not allow any other photography (except for my second shooter) along during the bride and groom portraits.
Can I give you a shot list?
I would prefer not. If I’m focusing on a printed list of desired photos, it’s disruptive to the flow of the day, taking the attention from you and what would naturally occur to a piece of paper. Let’s make our own, original pinterest content!!
But you take traditional family portraits, right?
I sure do! I will most definitely ask that we have a list of who you want included and in what combinations so that it doesn’t get out of hand and take up too much time. I do my best to stay within reasonable time limits. It’s a good idea to keep the list somewhat small so you can get back to celebrating!
When do you expect payment?
I require a 50% deposit at the time the contract is signed. That holds your day for you, and I will not entertain any other bookings, family vacations, or anything else on that day. Your date is officially sacred at that point. The other 50% will need to be payed two weeks before the wedding. I get it that life gets a little nuts around that time. I’ll still come to your wedding and photograph it, but I do not edit any images until the balance is paid
How long until my photos are finished?
Your photos are super important to me. I want to make sure that when I deliver a final product, it’s the absolute best it can be. I don’t have a set ‘style’ or a click of a button filter that I put onto all of my photos images. That technique is great for making an instagram account look cool, but I like to edit photos to compliment the spirit of the day, instead of my own brand. This takes a little bit of time, a little bit of trial and error, and some serious focus. Each photo will be a stand alone piece of art, and complimentary as a collection. For weddings, you can expect up to eight weeks. I try my best to get it wrapped up before then. I’ll be sending a sneak peek to tide you over, though!!
What if I want them sooner than that?
I can rush it for you. $150 gets you your photos in four weeks. $300 gets your photos to you in two weeks. Albums might take a bit longer to get printed.
How many photos can I expect?
A good rule of thumb is that you will receive at least 50 photos for every hour of shooting. Basically…. You’re getting a lot of photos.
Do you watermark your images?
As much as I love my business, I don’t need to graffiti each piece of art with my logo. That’s just a bummer. Your photos are yours (in license, not copyright). They are sent to you high resolution, with no watermark.
Do I have to order prints through you?
I’m happy to take care of that for you, but I do not hold your photos hostage and force you to go through me whenever you want a photo printed over the years. That being said, I use labs that offer a very high quality final product.
Can you send over the raw files?
Nope. This is not a final product.
Can I look through the outtakes and images that didn’t make the final cut?
No. I make a first pass and take out all the half blinking shots, shots where the flash didn’t fire, light tests, shots where Uncle Bob walked in front of the lens. These photos are deleted off the face of the earth. Trust me. You don’t want them. (We all remember that famous Beyonce photo….) I also remove absolute duplicate images. Other than that, you will have everything.
What if I want copyright signed over to me?
I don’t see why you would, since you have the ability to reproduce photos as you wish. If you absolutely insist on owning the copyright, we can talk about you purchasing that. But I will tell you, it’s very expensive, and not negotiable. This is the only way I release raw images.
